The Distant Couple
You used to get along so well, but now you seem to argue about everything.
You used to enjoy each other’s company, but now you feel like roommates.
Even if you felt like talking, you’re afraid it would just lead to a fight.
You feel disconnected and the distance between the two of you grows.
I help distant couples reconnect.
Relationship expert, Dr. John Gottman, finds that most couples have been unhappy for an average of six years before seeking help! Don’t live another unhappy day.
Couples counseling can break unhealthy patterns. You and your partner can learn the skills to argue less and love more.
My work with couples focuses on getting them out of the ruts that commonly occur when balancing life’s perpetual problems. I help each partner tap into the uncomfortable emotions, like resentment and hurt, that caused those ruts to deepen.
Healthy communication is paramount to connecting with those we love. I coach couples on how to express their needs and wants to their partner.
Listening is also a form of communication. So, I also coach couples on how to listen so their partner feels validated. This begins the healing process and reconnects the couple’s emotional attachment.
I meet with couples together and individually, which helps me learn more about and better empathize with both partners.
Remove past resentments so you can start to love again.
